For my second day in Savannah, the first destination was Bonaventure Cemetery. This is only the second cemetery I had ever visited, after one in Buenos Aires. Glancing along the names, I had never heard of any, but apparently Johnny Mercer is the best known of the bunch.

The two unique aspects of this cemetery are that Spanish moss, and the fact that it sits on the Wilmington River. This views of the river on a clear day are stupendous.

One particular grave looked like it was of an important person.

After wandering the cemetery, it was off to the Georgia State Railroad Museum. As a railroad aficionado, this was a treat. The architecture itself was more interesting than any trains that were on the premesis.

The museum wasn’t limited to just trains, there were vintage automobiles as well.

There was an obelisk as well.

Due to the fact there was still remaining daylight, I chose to admire the city center again.

Finally, it was time for drunch. I found a cajun restaurant, and filled myself to my heart’s delight.

After a wonderful two days in Savannah, it was time to start planning my next trip: Morelia, Mexico and the enchanting monarch butterflies.
