After a nice introduction to Innsbruck, it was now time for the main event: a mountain.
What attracted me to Innsbruck was not just that the scenery of the mountains around it, but the fact that there is a cable car that goes up to it from the city center.
The cable car is actually broken into three sections, with several stops along the way. Nordkettenbahn is the name of the tram line, and the top stop is Hafelekar.
We got on the cable car.
So far, everything was still green.
And then, we’d arrived. It was like we were in Antarctica, cold and windy.

I walked a little closer, as best I could on the icy ground.

Unfortunately, it was so cold that twenty minutes was about the maximum realistic time to spend there.
I went one stop down to Seegrube station, where there was a restaurant. It was a little easier to walk around here and there were nice views.

Then I went a few stations below to Hungerburgbahn station, and took one last picture. River cities are always beautiful.

That was it for day two in Innsbruck. I had a little time left the next day before heading to Munich.
