Iceland, the land of wonders so spectacular, those which are beyond what one can even imagine in a dream. The time was here, and we’d finally arrived. After a night of sleep at the Radisson, it was time to join our van tour with the company Gateway to Iceland.
The tour for this day was to Snæfellsnes National Park, towards the west of Iceland. However, though this was the destination, there would be several picturesque stops along the way. This would be a theme for the following day’s tour as well.
Just glancing out the window of the van looking at the mountainous terrain was heavenly.
The driver stopped at a pair of waterfalls to allow for pictures.
Finally, we were approaching the national park.
When we arrived, the cliffs that awaited can simply be described as breathtaking. The picture does not do them justice.
After admiring the view, the van stopped for a short lunch, before heading to the next destination, a snow capped mountain.
From here, it was to a black sand beach. The visual can simply be stated as serene.
The driver was kind enough to make one last stop on the way back to the city. A young lady couldn’t help but take in one last mental image of the landscape.
The following day would somehow be more spectacular, a drive along the south coast of the country.
