Tallinn, Estonia

Part of the reason I chose to go to Helsinki is the fact I could take a day trip to another country: Estonia. Tallinn is just a two hour ferry ride away. This is far more convenient than flying as the ports on both sides are near the city center. And also no need to show up very early for security.

The main attraction of Tallinn is essentially its old town. I started making my way along a cobblestone street.

I reached the tower in the previous picture.

Near to the tower was the central square.

I grabbed a snack in the central square from a kiosk, a sweet cut up pastry topped with strawberries. Delicious.

I started walking some more. More beautiful buildings. I particularly like the colors.

I reached an entry gate.

From here there was a staircase that led to the top of a hill. There was a beautiful church awaiting at the peak. I like style of the domes.

Near the church were some fortress walls.

Now it was time to head back. As a fan of architecture, I simply loved these modern gems.

That was it for my day in Tallinn. Now it was off to Helsinki where I had an event of a lifetime planned: a visit to a reindeer farm.
