Alas, I had one day left in El Salvador. The plan for the day was to go to a lake, followed by a stop in a small village and then to a beach.
At the lake, we took a boat ride.

This view reminded me of Guatemala.

After this, we stopped at a village named Ataco. One wall had a beautiful mural.

This reminded me of pueblos magicos in Mexico. Souvenirs were available here, and very reasonably priced compared to other countries.
Then it was time for lunch. It was fried yucca with a couple of other things which I am not even sure what they were, but they were delicious.

The last stop of the day was a beach, Playa Las Hojas.

There are several hotels here, but for the moment they are filled with locals as they are inexpensive. Over time, I’m sure this will change, as word gets out.
That was it for a wonderful three days in El Salvador.
Thank you to Beto for arranging all the sightseeing. I highly recommend him.
I only have one country left to hit in Central America: Honduras. One day.
The next destination was the Sierra Gorda region of Mexico.
