Bernal, Mexico is a place I had visited in 2018. But now since it was on the way back to Querétaro from the Sierra Gorda, I decided to check it out once again.
One thing I noted was the huge number of markings of people’s deaths along the winding road. I saw dozens of them in just a couple of hours: this was literally a road of death.

The view is simply phenomenal though.

This time, I had some time to check out the town, instead of just walking up the monolith.

Yellow is my favorite color for churches.

I walked a little closer to get a better view.

Then I walked around the other side.

Around the corner was a pink church, just fabulous.

Then it was time to once again climb the Peña de Bernal, a monolith only dwarfed by the rock of Gibraltar and Sugarloaf Mountain.

This was about as high as people were allowed to go.
I took a moment to self-appreciate my accomplishment by basking at the view.

Then, it was time to head back to Querétaro, where I had a few hours left before the early morning return flight.
