Wisconsin, a place I had visited as an adolescent in 1998 but had few memories outside of pizza. So, I decided to visit again as an adult.
The goal was to go to Madison, but it was easier to fly straight into Milwaukee. I didn’t know much about Milwaukee, but decided to check it out for a day. Lucky for me, the State Fair was taking place that day. So I had two legendary food items.
First, fried Wisconsin cheese curds.

Then, a cream puff.

After this, I headed to Lakefront Brewery, located on the Milwaukee Riverwalk: a place until now that I didn’t realize existed.

I had a gargantuan pretzel with mustard: it was a meal in itself.

I had a little while before sunset, so I decided to walk around downtown.

After taking this trail, it was nearly dark. However, the Milwaukee Art Museum stood out in the darkness. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it is an astonishing sight.

That was it for my day in Milwaukee. The next day would be the destination I had been wanting to visit for years: Madison.
