Madison, Wisconsin: A city I had visited in 1998 but had longed to see again due to fading memories of my initial visit.
The capital of Wisconsin is about a 1 hour drive from Milwaukee (pending traffic). As a result, the most ostentatious site is the capital itself.

There are tours available, but I just took a quick jaunt through the inside.

From here, I took a walk down State Street to the University of Wisconsin campus.
On the way I stopped at a local haunt, Paul’s Pel’meni. Pelmini are Russian dumplings. These were delicious.

I then continued walking towards the campus. A red building stood out, it is the university’s Armory & Gymnasium.

Nearby was the student union, where I grabbed an ice cream. Probably the best I’ve ever had to be frank, due to Wisconsin’s dairy farming.

Just outside the student union is a terrace.

Then I headed back to the capital. Luckily, the weekend I was there happened to have a huge food festival, Taste of Madison, with cuisines from all over the world.
I never knew Ethiopian food was so good.
I picked up a rice dish from a stand as well, though I can’t recall the name of it now.

After eating, I headed to the Monona Terrace, designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. This was the view.

At this point, it was nearly sunset. Before heading back to the hotel, I couldn’t help but take another picture of the capital.

The destination for the next day was Taliesen, a one time home of the aforementioned Wright.
